Red wine made from Andre grapes, harvested from a 16 year old vineyard at an elevation of 296M above sea level. Loess and clay soils.
The grapes were hand-harvested, de-stemmed and crushed and let to macerate and ferment on skins in an open tub for 8 weeks. The winemaking was finished with the manual pressing of the grapes in a basket press. The wine was aged in old oak barrel on lees for 12 months. No Sulphur Added.
Ripe tannins and refreshing acidity with notes of red stone fruits, especially cherries (sweet and sour) and a slight hint of dark chocolate on the nose and through to the taste.
Pairs well with light meat, ragu style dishes.
