A 50/50 blend of Furmint and Lipovina grapes, grown in 40-year old vineyards years with chalk and clay soils at an elevation of 150M above sea level.
The grapes were de-stemmed, crushed, gently pressed and left to ferment naturally in new oak barrels, where the wine stayed on rough lees for a year. After that, the wine was transferred to old oak barrels where it matured for another 5 months on fine lees and then bottled directly from the barrel.
The nose is light, with hints of vanilla, bananas, coconut and classic Tokaj notes. On the palate there is yoghurt and a light creaminess with a small portion of residual sugar balanced by robust acidity.
Pairs nicely with spicy food - Indian cuisine is a winner.
Residual sugar 11.0g/L, acids 9.0g/L, alc. 13.0% vol., total sulphites: 45mg/L, free sulphites 10mg/L.
