A 50/50 blend of Furmint and Lipovina grapes from a 40 year old vineyard with chalk/clay soils and bedrock of tuffs. Elevation of 150M.
After harvest the grapes were de-stemmed, crushed and left on skins for 24 hours. The juice was fermented and matured in small oak barrels where it stayed on fine lees for 2 years.
Oxidative notes develop into signature Tokaj nose and taste. Great potential for ageing.
Mature cheeses and cigars make for good company here.
Residual sugar 98 g/L, acids 7.8g/L, alc. 15.0% vol., total sulphites: 78mg/L, free sulphites 15mg/L.
