Monology – Diva-S 2025 South Moravia, Czech Republic | Orange Wine

Some wines start with a plan. Diva didn't.

This is a wine that came together the way the best things do — through instinct, accumulated knowledge, and the willingness to let the material lead. Müller Thurgau, Pálava, Traminer, Silvaner Grün, and more besides, grown across South Moravia on fertile loamy and sandy soils, all farmed organically. The grapes were grown by women: Ondřej's mother, Andrea Nejedlíková, and Ondřej himself. Make of that what you will.

Each variety was foot-crushed as whole clusters and macerated on skins for anywhere between 4 and 14 days, each parcel handled slightly differently. Then came the blending — two barrels, and something more — and what emerged was a wine that resists easy categorisation. Floral and peachy on the nose, with the kind of tannin that gives orange wine its backbone without ever feeling heavy.

Diva isn't named after a vineyard site. There isn't one. It's named after a feeling — after Moravia itself, in all its aromatic, sun-warmed abundance. Aged in oak barrels. Nothing added, nothing taken away.

Drink it: with slow-cooked poultry, soft-ripened cheeses, apricot-based desserts, or anyone who appreciates a wine that doesn't explain itself upfront.

Three different labels - celebration of a female photographer.
