Pure, varietal Riesling from the Katovka vineyard in Modrý Kameň — made with the same hands-off, low-intervention approach David Kušický applies across the board, but here turned toward something more direct and unfussy.

Hand-harvested into 20kg crates, destemmed, and given two days on skins in a plastic vat before pressing — just enough contact to add a touch of grip without tipping it into orange territory. From there it went into stainless steel, where it finished fermenting spontaneously and aged for the full nine months before bottling in June 2025. Another nine months in bottle followed before release. Unfiltered, unfined, no added sulphur — only the 13mg/l naturally produced during fermentation makes it onto the label.

This is real Riesling, and it shows it on the nose: youthful, full of energy, practically vibrating with varietal character. The palate is more direct — leaner, "simple" by the winemaker's own admission — but that's not a knock. There's real potential for this to open up and gain weight with a bit more time in bottle.
