Domin & Kušický – Kamenný Kvet Bio 2024 Veľký Krtíš, Slovakia | White
Kamenný Kvet — Stone Flower — has been a fixture in Domin & Kušický's lineup for nearly 15 years. It's their evergreen: a blended white that shifts slightly with each vintage, always drawing from the best fruit available, always offering something a little unexpected. The idea is consistency of intent rather than consistency of recipe.
The 2024 is built primarily around Sauvignon Blanc, with Pinot Gris filling out the frame — both from the Viničky 1 and Viničky 2 vineyards in Veľký Krtíš, hand-harvested at 22°NM into 20kg crates. Destemmed, given 2–3 hours of skin contact, then pressed. Fermentation ran on an estate-selected yeast strain before the wine was racked into a 7,500-litre stainless steel tank, where it aged for 14 months. Bottled in November 2025 with light plate filtration and added sulphur to 64mg/l total SO2.
Sauvignon Blanc in the lead means aromatic lift and a certain crispness; Pinot Gris rounds it off and adds body. High quality, accessible price — that's always been the point of this wine, and the 2024 doesn't deviate from it.
