Marriage of Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc. So-called redhead or "Ryšák".
Harvested in the wee hours of the morning to preserve the fresh acidity. 5 days maceration on skins, gentle press and a year in oak barrel.
Beautiful light juicy red, for days and nights with friends or staring into fire.
Straight from the winemaker:
“We were bound by individual words.
We set out to pick Sauvignon Blanc. It was hot,
four in the morning, no headlamps – we used
our phones to shine light on the grapes. The
Sauvignon had beautiful acidity, but minimal
pulp. The decision was made immediately: we
would add Pinot Noir from the side rows. A
quick action that opened the cellar for more
ideas.
Short maceration of 4–5 days, spontaneous
fermentation, barrel. In the cellar, this
combination smelled and stank – as some
relationships can do.
In the spring, I went to a performance of Kafka
Lives: Žranice (Feast). Scenes of domestic and
sexualized violence. Discipline, clowning, and
the sign BDSM on the wall – an echo of the
regime that bound bodies and language.
This wine is a knot. Between words, varieties,
body and memory.
R for redhead. R for regime. R for “rozhodnutí”
(decision).
Alcohol: 13.0% abv.
